Juliane Begenau is an Associate Professor of Finance and a Botha-Chan Faculty Scholar 2023-2025 at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Prior to that, she taught at Harvard Business School. She is also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research, a Research Affiliate at CEPR, a Foreign Editor at the Review of Economic Studies, and a member of the Federal Reserve System’s Model Validation Council. Her research employs a diverse set of methodologies to scrutinize elusive facets of financial intermediation and inform optimal financial regulation. Begenau earned her Ph.D. in economics at Stanford University. Her undergraduate degree, also in economics, is from Humboldt University in Berlin.
